George Bush and the Ant Lion

There's a little insect that digs a conical hole and buries itself at the bottom of the hole with just its jaws showing. An ant walks by, and starts to slip on the sandy slopes of the hole, and falls into the ant lion's jaws.

I see a parallel with George Bush and his lies. As he gets caught in one lie, even a small one, people are less willing to believe a second line. Those two disbelieved make it even less likely they will believe a third.

It is a sort of cascade.

As more people cease to give Bush the benefit of the doubt on any lie, by peer pressure, other people tend not to give him the benefit of the doubt either. Again you get a cascading effect.

More and more people are coming to see Bush as a pathological liar like Nixon. Once that trend starts, it is very hard to stop. People will cease to believe him even when he tells the truth.

At a certain point even Bush core supporters will abandon him, because they won't want to be viewed as naive or liars too. I am old enough to remember watching Nixon go through this process. It started when people discovered the supposed Quaker swore in cabinet meetings. Bush's swearing has also been reported in a Canadian newspaper, but it did not seem to sink in with quite the same shock as with Nixon.

After all, Bush joked about his mother liking Ozzie Osborne's satanic worship music.

Another stupid navel-contemplating comment from Roedy, I see. I'm still waiting for him to read the Toxological Profile for Uranium so he takes back the crap he published about depleted uranium.

Roedy doesn't discuss. He preaches. And what he preaches is hate.

You don't see anything, actually. You live in a bitter, resentful little fantasy world of your own. You have your head buried in the sand with only your mouth showing and spouting lame nonsense. Get a job.

More than that, he lies and spreads lies against those he disagrees with politically.

For me, I have problems with the Bush administration and I have no problem with earnest debate. However, having said that, I and I believe most Americans have had it with the James Carville - Roedy style war/propaganda smear machine politics.

In fact, I believe the AWOL Bush smear is going to stick in the minds of Americans and come back to bite the DemonRats in the ass this November....

Too bad for Roedy he won't have any say in that decision!

How about when I make one of these so called lies challenging me right there when I make it rather than saving it all up a broadside like this where you don't even specify what the lies were.

Let's start with your diatribes against Bush claiming him AWOL. Also, you recently started a thread maligning Laura Bush. I myself (others too) have challenged you on a number of occasions to provide credible proof of your claims, but you either delete the challenges and/or cogent points or reference either your extremely partisan web site or another similar site such bias site like moveon.org.

BTW, I notice since Bush released his military records, the main stream liberal press, i.e. LA Times, NY Times etc. haven't been continuing their Bush AWOL rants....
